Dear Sirs:

In answer to your recent letter, I wish to inform you that my son has received your generous package. Because of his many duties the acknowledgement must have slipped his mind. I wish to thank you for being so thoughtful to him during his period of service with the army.

He has been promoted to 1st Lieutenant, other than that your address is correct.

Very truly yours,
Mrs. V. R. Deignan
