A.W.O.L. ??
YOU SHOULD HAVE RETURNED MONDAY. IN THE FUTURE, WHEN YOU SEE YOU CAN’T MAKE IT BACK ON TIME, CALL ME COLLECT AND LET ME KNOW WHEN TO EXPECT YOU.

BUT THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED -->

April 15, 1944

Dear Gang,

The dreary, dull, monotonous army training was interrupted for a time when first I received a package of two flats of cigarettes and later on I received your cheery Easter greeting. Those interruptions are very welcomed and greatly appreciated. I can look over at the boys from the “Ivy” colleges and say “hell man look what my little college does for me.

A.S.T.P. closed down and I’m now in training with the 90th Chemical Bn.. It doesn’t sound difficult but I’ll vouch for the fact that it a rough outfit. That reminds me I sure will be glad to start handling a few vouchers soon now.

Regards to all and thanks again.

Sincerely
Leon Finkle
