Letters displayed here were written by F. Douglas Hammond, a member of Bryant’s faculty since 1935. F. Douglas Hammond was a professor at Bryant for 38 years and was the College's first faculty member with an earned doctorate. Dr. Hammond became a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Forces where he was an instructor of mathematics at Spence Field, Moultrie, Georgia.
Dr. Hammond was born in Buffalo, New York, and passed away in February 2002 in Flagstaff, Arizona.
