Dear Miss Blaney: --

Rec’d your inquiry concerning Frank A. Hurley, Jr. and was surprised that he had not acknowledged receipt of pkg. but when I talked with him his only explanation was that they are kept so busy in the office all day and they have to do their drill work at nite, so you see they really don’t have much time for themselves. He is now a Sergent [sic] and in charge of commercial credits in the Finance office and quite a busy man trying to do his bit.

He has been fortunate in being stationed near home, for which we are grateful and see him quite often. If you care to continue your thoughts of him, I know he is much appreciative but lack of time prevents much courtesy—Do forgive him if he fails you there for he knows we have a big job and it must be done.

Sincerely, his mother
Mrs. F. A. Hurley
