Hello Everybody,

Thanks very much for the package. I received it just before I left for the states and it was very welcome.

Your letter was extremely interesting although the news I regret to say was very dismal. I was sorry to hear about Charlie Nofal and Oscar Frechette as well as the others. Oscar and I played basketball together and Charley was by far one of the most brilliant graduates of Bryant.

I'm now in England where life is rather gay and every day brings forth new adventures. Thanks for your interesting letters and keep me posted.

Good Luck.
Sam!!
[Transcription ends]

Your package of “Barbara’s Candies” arrived very recently. Thanks ever so much for your thoughtfulness.

If you are issuing bulletins or addresses of the boys in the service, be sure to put me on your mailing list. I have received one bulletin several months ago and I was very interested. Thanks.

Hello Everybody,

It was swell to hear from you again and I was certainly glad to hear about Bill Aguiar "40" who used to chum with me "back in the good old days." As yet your gift hasn't arrived, but it will be transferred from my old station. I'll acknowledge it as soon as it arrives.

The "news" from Bryant was very interesting & I hope I'll hear from you again. Best of luck to you all.

Hello Everybody,

Thank you very much for your gift. I appreciate it very much.

Your letter was absolutely correct in stating “above all things service men enjoy receiving letters.” However, a written letter has much more weight than routine material. I’m very grateful to hear from you, written or otherwise, but prefer, if possible handwritten letters.

Thank you, again.

Very truly yours,
Pvt. Samuel Kaplan
[Transcription ends]

Gentlemen:

I recall reading one of Bryant’s Alumni papers and I would deeply appreciate any service that Bryant renders to her alumni in the armed forces, such as correspondence.

Fortunately and luckily I have made a friend here who also is a Bryant graduate. His name is Alvin Connors “1935” B. A. also of the same address. At the present time he is on duty, but I’m sure he would appreciate any service that you may render.

Thank you for your kind consideration.

We both shall be pleased to answer any of your inquiries.

Very truly yours,
