9 Dec. 1944

To the Service Club,

I received your most welcome Christmas gift a few days ago and wish to express my thanks to all the students for it.

I want to thank the members of the service club for making it possible for the graduates of their college to receive a remembrance at Christmastime.

I really should say “thanks” from the 60 odd Waves in my section--for the moment they saw the box, one grand dive was made for the contents. By the time the grand rush was over, there were a mere 8 pieces left--which I ate.

This week we are leaving Iowa, and all its corn, for a 7-day leave. The suspense is terrible.

And so, until I arrive at my new station, here’s wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Sincerely,

Eila Lahdenpera S 2/C

H.T.S. (y-w) #0327
Cedar Falls, Iowa
