U. S. ARMY AIR FORCES

June 17, 1943

To All The Members of the
Bryant College Service Club
Bryant College
Providence, R. I.

Fellow Members of the B. S. C.

Thank you very much for the swell gift package that you sent me. I received it a few days ago and it arrived in excellent condition.

My buddies and I certainly enjoyed the delicious cookies, candies, etc. but my greatest enjoyment came in receiving the package. It showed me that the students at Bryant were earnestly keeping their fellow students in the Service in mind.

We've been real busy here lately, so busy, in fact, that we haven't even had much time to think back to our civilian days. And when I received your package, it brought back fond memories of the days when I was an active member of the B. S. C., and the way we used to work to get packages out to the service men, and to sell war stamps and bonds.

I'm more glad now than ever that I did my part then, because now I know how happy a Service man feels when he receives something from his alma mater.

I am in my 50th day of basic military training today and I have about 6 more days of basic to go.

It may interest you to know that I have been accepted for Aviation Cadet Training and that I will be at it very shortly.

I'd like to write more but my writing time is limited.

Again let me thank you all, very much, for your kind gift and the fine thoughts behind it. Keep up the swell job that you're doing. You're the only student body in the country that has such a fine organization as the Bryant Service Club.

Yours for Victory--Soon
Leonard M. Levin

P. S. To those of you who would like to write to me my address is--"Pvt. Leonard M. Levin, 409 T.G. Fl't Q. AAFTTC, BTC #4, Miami Beach, Fla."

I'd be very glad to hear from you about yourself and about things at Bryant--L.M.L.

November 15, ‘42

Dear Miss Blaney,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply to my request for an official transcript. I’d like to present to you the addresses of few Bryant boys that graduated with me and who are now in the Armed Forces.

Pvt. Lawrence A. Italiano

41 st T.S.S. Brrks 764

Lowry Field #2

Denver, Colorado

Cpl. Michael Mathews, Jr.

Co. L. U.S.A. F.S.-NCO Sec

Wake Forest, N. Carolina

(over please)

Roland Blanchette Av. Cad. U.S. U.S.N.R.

202 Stacy Hall

U.S. Navy Preflight School

Chapel Hill, N.C.

George Bunnell is also in the Navy. I have not his latest address.

Larry Italiano has sent me two letters. In each letter he mentioned the Service Club. He said he hadn’t heard anything from them. He said, “After all, it’s a pretty tough job to keep in touch with so many soldiers as there are today.”

I sent him a letter assuring him that he had not been overlooked, and promised that I would turn in his new address to the Bryant Service Club. I have now done so.

Miss Blaney, I am now working on a plane to make a “dime” collection from Evening School students. It may take time, because it’s a lot slower movement for extra curricular activities in Evening School.

Thank you again.

Sincerely yours,

Leonard

P.S. I met Bob Marshall’s father at Nicholson File Co. He told me that he thought that the Bryant Service Club was a grand organization and deserved many, many thanks.

Saturday
April 22
1944

Dear Members of the Bryant Service Club:

Thank you very much for you very nice and newsy letter, and the package of goodies that you sent to me for Easter. I enjoyed them both immensely. of [sic] course, my buddies in the barracks helped me enjoy the candy by sharing it with me.

When my buddies asked me who I got the nice package from, I explained all about the Service Club and all that you’re doing to make us feel closer to home. They were amazed to hear about the fine things that you are accomplishing for Bryant alumni in the Service. Many of my Army friends are college and university graduates, but none have a group back at their alma mater that’s doing anything like the wonderful thing that you’re doing for us Bryant graduates.

We appreciate, sincerely, all that you’re doing for us. It’s not so much what you send us, but the thought that you have us in mind even though we’re so far away. I can easily imagine how much my fellow alumni overseas appreciate your thoughts and packages.

Good Luck to all of you.

Yours for Victory, Soon
Leonard M. Levin
