Dear Friends,

Please excuse me for not acknowledging and thanking you for the Easter package sooner. The reason was that I was expecting a change of address and thought I'd wait. As it was I've had not one, but two.

The day after I arrived here at Shelby I met Joe Morrison (Class of 43) in the PX. He told me of another Bryant Alumnus who was here at Shelby. I cannot remember who it was right now.

Not much else to say except to thank you again for the package and letter and to hope to see you all very soon.

Dear Fellow Classmates,

May I express my unlimited thanks for the letter and package I relieved form the Bryant Service Club recently. It arrived in very good condition even though it traveled completely across the country to my old organization and was sent back to me at my station here in New York.

I am now taking a course here at N.Y. U. under the Army Specialist Training Program.

Was very glad to get news about Bryant and the alumni in the service.

Incidentally how is Phi Sigma Nu carrying on? Hope the new members carry on the good work done by those frat brothers who graduated before me and that which my own classmates did, themselves.

Can’t imagine Scott House as a girls “dorm”. Guess Bryant just isn’t the same.

I have received mail from several Bryant alumni recently they all share one plan- that is for a gala Bryant reunion when we all get back. Let’s hope it’s real, real soon.

Thanks again for the Xmas package and here’s hoping I hear from you again soon.

Sincerely,
P.F.C. Americo L. Novo

Dear Friends,

It is only after one is in the service and the happy day comes when a Bryant package arrives that you realize how sincere and truthful all the letters on the Bryant Service Club bulletin board in South Hall really are. Like the fellows who wrote the letters I use to read when I was at Bryant, I can’t find a way of really expressing my appreciation for the package, so I’ll just say “thanks a lot” and I’m sure you’ll all understand.

As far as army life is concerned, it’s great. Outside of a 16 hour day six days a week we often get K P on Sunday, as a sort of relaxation. Result: Everyone keeps right “on the ball”. So far I’ve been very fortunate in that I’ve only landed there twice.

Now for some real news. Leo Blais, Maurice Cofman, Mario Roque and myself have been accepted for A S T P training. We will leave for Washington DC in about three weeks were [sic] we will be assigned to some college for training. Like myself, all the boys are raring to go. Lets hope it turns out to be as good a school as Bryant.

Well, this is about all I can write just now, and may I once more add my sincere thanks for the package.
