ROBERT A. PATT
AVIATION CADET, UNITED STATES ARMY AIR FORCES

The Bryant Service Club:

I received your Christmas present of two flat tins of fifty cigarettes and I appreciate them very much. My roommates really go for them. It takes no time at all for us to finish them up.

It is always nice to know that there is still that friendship back at college and to know you are thought of once in a while. I guess it helps a lot.

I expected to be at another field this week but I had to be kept over here at Maxwell because all other schools are full and just can’t accommodate any more personnel. As a result I am in a pilot detachment. We have it a little better than the other cadets because we have been all through it but that doesn’t mean [you] get any picnic. We do plenty to get tired and there is very little free time from morning to night. I am in hopes of being out of here in a month.

Bob Mitchell is down here with me and I see him once in a while.

Thanks again for the cigarettes.
