Dear Friends:

Please accept my sincere thanks for your kindness and thoughtfulness at the Easter Season. It was nice to receive the cigarettes and, also, the very friendly letter telling us about other members of the alumni.

It’s unfortunate that your letter was unable to contain information about the war ending and all members of the alumni in the service returning to their homes safely. However, war brings on unavoidable tragedies and sacrifices such as were stated in your letter.

Your service club is doing a magnificent job in keeping up the spirit of the boys in the service and convinces us that the people back are aware of the sacrifices we are making.

Sincerely
Pat Fallon

Dear Friends:

It is most fortunate that we, former students and graduates of Bryant College, have so many thoughtful friends in the present student body. The commendable work you are doing may seem like a very small task, but its effect is certainly invaluable, to say the least.

It’s unfortunate that you are not able to see the joy and happiness that such thoughtfulness brings to these boys who are making many sacrifices to bring this conflict to an end.

The value of the gift does not bring greater or lesser joy to these boys. Oh, no! It’s just knowing that the people at home are not forgetting us and the hardships and perils that servicemen encounter in war. This is what gives us a greater spirit and courage to overcome these things and attain our objective.

Let me assure you that the boys will never forget the very good work you are doing. Please keep up the good work especially now when victory is close at hand.

In closing, please accept my thanks for the beautiful sweater that I was so fortunate to receive from the Bryant College Service Club.

Yours very truly
Patrick J. Fallon
