Dear Bryant Service Club—

Thanks very much for your Christmas gift and greetings. I did enjoy the candy lots.

Although my address has changed recently, the package reached me through “channels.” I am using a temporary address at present, because I have been in the hospital for some time. Have recovered from my illness and expect to return to duty soon. When I am assigned, I will be able to send you a correct address.

I do appreciate your remembering me—and hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas with the best for ’45.

My thanks to all of you for the gift of cigarettes you sent me.

I received them just in time for Christmas, and I want you all to know I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Dear Chairman- Bryant Service Club,

I am very pleased with the gift of knitted socks just received from the Bryant Service Club. I can just imagine the time and effort that – I am sure – was needed to prepare such a gift.

Your Bulletins have been coming to me regularly, wherever I’ve been. Thanks, also, for the letters I’ve received. It’s been interesting to read of your activities.

Hope to be “over” to see you all soon – as the “6th” is back in Providence again.

Thank you- and lots of luck to everyone at Bryant!

Sincerely,

Paul E. Smedberg
