Just received your Christmas package and words just cannot express my appreciation for your kindness and thoughfulness [sic].

Honestly gang it sure makes one feel glad all over to think and know that the Bryant Service Club is still plugging along. I still can remember old "Nick" endlessly preaching and almost reaching into our pockets to contribute what ever we could for the boys. Some of us thought it funny but believe me it sure is appreciated~I know now, as I'm on the other end.

Received your very interesting letter together with a package and must say it was grand to hear from you all again.

Honestly friends, I, as well as many others are mighty proud of you. The splendid cooperation which you so devotedly and generously have given makes us glad to know we too were part of such a gracious organization. Though words can hardly express our appreciation, I wish to say, “thanks a million fore everything to one and all”.

The news contained in your letter was very pleasant to read about and hope it continues to be as such.

Well dear friends, timed does not permit so I’ll close this letter of appreciation with lot’s of luck in everything you’re doing and yours in a speedy victory.

I take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks and appreciation for your thoughtfulness during the on-coming season…I’m sure I speak not only for myself but for all those others who once paraded the proud and beautiful campus of dear old Bryant. So again I say thanks a million.

Their [sic] is, without a doubt in my mind that since I have left the Club and Bryant over a year ago the organization has been successfully achieveing [sic] their work without end, and of which I am proud to say I too took pride in.

Hello Gang:

Sorry I didn’t get down to see you all before I left, but you know how divided my time was???? However after a hard and tiresome trip to Norfolk, I was immediately transferred on ship. This being the first I’ve been aboard makes me ignorant as old hell about it, however I’m learning.

Say, has any of you, received any word from Tony or George, if so send both [of] their address[es] to me ~ will you??? Incidentally how about Rocky’s???

Their really isn’t much I can say except that I like my work very much (office) and am in the pink of condition. Say is the Frat having a banquet this year? If so let me know and maybe I’ll get around to it ~ boy we certainly had a swell time last year and I sure would hate to miss this one. But hell there really isn’t much I can do about it but remember have a drink on me ha-ha. i.e. if I[‘m] not there otherwise I’ll drink my own. ha-ha.

Again may I express my sincere thanks and appreciation for the cigarettes and letter which I recently received. It gives one a great feeling of joy and happiness to hear from his old alma mata [sic]. Keep up the good work.

In just fifteen days I will graduate and I’m still hoping for a leave. At present school is a push over with nothing to do but sit around and write letters or read. Who knows maybe in a couple of weeks I’ll drop around to see you all. Keep your fingers cross-- so until then—maybe.
