April 12, 1945

Dear Members of Bryant Service Club,

Your letter and package of candy were very much appreciated. It is nice to keep informed on what is happening and sweets always hit the spot.

Finished our training at Cedar Falls shortly after Easter and we are now on the job all over the country. I came down to Washington with some other Waves after a leave. Am now a seaman first, striking for my yeoman rating. We are all very proud of our three stripes.

Lights go out shortly and I have never tried writing in the dark so will close.

I haven’t been assigned yet so am quite excited wondering what is in store.

Sincerely,

Ethel WaGew
