The Earth Day Symposium on Climate & Sustainability was started in 2021 by students Taylor Vahey ’23 and Alendra Fluegal ’23. For the inaugural event, the duo organized various presentations, discussions, and workshops around climate education and sustainability to inspire local change that could make a global difference. In 2025, a Campus Sustainability Challenge Pitch Competition, Creative Writing Competition, and Photography Showcase were added to the Symposium’s activities.
