Dearest Mommie,

I have a new assignment. Address any mail to 930 H. St. N. W. – Washington, D. C. until I tell you another address.

I hope you + Davie have your plans all set for Christmas. I’m mighty sorry that due to my new assignment, I shall not be able to be with you.

For the past two days the weather has been icy cold here in the East. I have both a button in grey lining + an extra red lining which can also be worn as a coat or robe, so when I get into all of these I am good + warm. The cotton stockings also feel extra good.

I saw Nancy Basconn today + she said her mother just went home on Tues. We have the same assign. Also most of the girls who were at the Allerton.

At present I am getting my hair washed. It needed a good bath. I do believe that New York is dirtier than St. Louis ever thought of being, and most of the dirt lands right in your eyes.

Washington really seems like quite a calm place after N. Y. and the Christmas crowds.

I must go have my hair combed as I have an appointment in a few minutes.

Tell Jane, Bud, + the children, Gran, + Tantie, Mr. + Mrs. Culver, May + whoever else I didn’t mention Merry Christmas.

Also again, you + Davie have a big time for me Christmas night.

Lots + lots of love,

Chichi
