Dearest Mommie,

This may be hard to read because I am on the train. I won’t have much time to write as I shall be on the go for at least a week.

On Mon. I went back to the base + had my old room back at the Andrews. Les is also staying at the Andrews now. That night we went to see “Millions Like Us” – a Limey picture – fair – we went with Johnnie + Bud.

On Tues. I had breakfast in bed + arose about 11:30 – Les had the day off – so went out to the base + I went around seeing all my old friends – took some doughnuts + gum to the dispensary + got my teeth cleaned in return.

Les had a can of popcorn her mother sent her so the four of us had planned on having a popcorn party. I got a case of beer for the occasion. We had a real celebration in the Andrews kitchen (one of the best spots in the house). The reason it was so gay was because when Bud Fuller came over we found he had gotten his Captaincy. We have been plugging for him to be a Captain for some now so it was most exciting when we found it had come through that afternoon.

Yesterday about 6 the phone rang + it was Kitty Heissler, in charge of the Sinker Club now, saying she had just received a call that I was to report with all my luggage for the driving course Fri. morning. You can imagine the fit through (sic) me into since I had to get my footlocker + bedroll off somehow, get back to the Sinker Club to pack the rest of my things + leave tonight in order to get there in the morning for driving.

I rushed up the street to the R. T. O. (Railway Transportation Office) + the sergeant drove a jeep back, we piled them in + took them back to the station + sent them on their way to the big city.

Back at the Sinker Club now. I took the train this morning to come back here + collect the rest of my things. Five of us are leaving from here tonight to go take the driving course. They are Jinine Eason, Betty Allen, Elma Belz, + Miriam Netterstrom. I am the only one who has to take all my luggage. The rest will come back here after the course.

Your letter of the 22nd came this afternoon with all the clippings. I imagine Jane + Bud + the Lelands had themselves a good time while in Hot Springs.

I must stop + get dressed now + finish my packing.

Will write when I find out any more news. Lots of love, Chichi
