93rd Evacuation Hospital (Mtz)
Fort George G. Meade, Maryland
February 18, 1943

Dear Miss Blaney:

Recently my mother forwarded a letter to me that you had written to her in regards to whether or not I had received the packages that Bryant had sent to me. I did receive both packages in good share and I am sorry that I have failed to acknowledge them but this Army life keeps one on the go so much that if you neglect to do a thing one day you may not be able to do it again for a long time.

We have been kept very busy for the past 6 months some nights working until after midnight. I work in the Supply Department of this Hospital and most of the clerical work goes through my hands. I don’t have too much of the work to do but I am responsible to see that it is done. I handle all the reports and requisitions for this outfit.

I want to thank you and Bryant for both of the gifts and hope you will overlook the delay in thanking you for them.

Sincerely
George W. Esten [Transcription ends]
