Katayoun is an Assistant Professor of Legal Studies at Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Her work focuses on human rights, law & religion, and comparative law. She has conducted fieldwork among religious and secular communities in Europe and in the US. Most of the interviews were conducted by Katayoun, and some by student researcher Tómas Ballester.
