Dear Members:
I received your Christmas gift yesterday in excellent condition….thanks a million. Cigarettes are one of the most welcome gifts a fellow in the Service who smokes can receive.
Although we received many gifts and cards and had many invitations out to Christmas dinners, it really didn’t seem like the holiday season down here at Miami Beach. It takes the good old New England weather to give that Christmas spirit, but we did have a beautiful day for swimming and sunbathing.
Well, thanks again for the present and may I [wish?] you all a very happy and prosperous New Year.
Sincerely
Sgt. Bertram F. Bullock
