Dear Miss Blaney,
Bryant Service Club,
For once in my life I am at a loss for words.
I received your much appreciated Christmas gift and greetings, and though they traveled in a roundabout way they both reached me safe and sound. It happened that I was just running out of cigaretts at the time they arrived, so you can realize that I am grateful in more ways than one.
At present I am stationed here in Chanute for schooling in the field of Teletype operation and admistration [sic]. At present, all I have to say for the course is that it is intensified and interesting.
Thanks again for your thoughtfullness [sic], your kindness, and present.
Respectfully
Bill Cain
