Dear Friends:

Thank you so much for your fine package. It came through in fine shape although delayed some because of my recent move within the Fort.

It was good to hear from you and to learn some of the news even though it was saddening to learn of the death of Capt. Donald Walker. He and I both worked for Mr. Barber in the office. I knew him well and surely was sorry to learn of his death. War is truly HELL, not so much to those of us who have been fortunate enough to remain in this country and have our wives with us, but certainly for those who were forced to spend Christmas in the front lines.

Thank you for remembering us fellows who are trying to serve our country in this hour of need and pray that this war will soon end so that not only can we come back but that also more of us may come back.

My address is the one listed above for I am living at home with my wife who moved west with me. My Army address is Headquarters & Service Company, ASFTC, Fort Lewis, Washington.

Best Wishes for a Happy New Year to all of you and friends of Bryant College.

Sincerely,
Paul R. Cone
