U.S. ARMY AIR FORCES
MAXWELL FIELD, ALA.
Sunday
1100
Dear Mom:
It’s beautiful today. There isn’t a cloud in the sky. I just got back from church. It was a nice service. I’m going to try to attend every Sunday.
Last night we had Recreation privileges for the first time. I went to the “Rec” hall with a bunch of boys and had some cokes + played the piano. It was good to have some time to myself for a change. I have Rec privileges today, I think I’ll go to a movie. Her Primitive Man is playing.
You asked the difference between cadets + enlisted men. You see, we are not enlisted me. We are officer candidates, and aren’t supposed to associate with enlisted men, who are privates, corporals, or sergeants in the regular army. It’s alot [sic] of crap if you ask me, but that’s the way it works.
Enclosed is a picture taken the morning I left Catawba, Pete sent it. Give my love to Bob + Nan. I love you honey, with all my heart.
Your Son Judd
