Dear Sir.

Received your lovely gift yesterday. It really does my heart good to know that my Alma-Mater is thinking about the boys who are away from their loved ones. It was a very nice thought and I want to commend you highly on the work that you are doing. I hope you will be able to continue your fine work because it is appreciated by the boys who happen to be on shore as well as those who are on the ocean or in foreign lands.

Remember me to all the “gang” and tell them that I am thinking of them as one of my best “friends”.

Sincerely
William P. Grace [Transcription ends]
