Bryant Service Club:
Thanks so much for your letter dated May 31, 1943. Very little has happened since I last wrote to you. Always manage to keep fairly busy which makes the time pass very quickly.
The War seems to be progressing very favorably doesn’t it? The weather here is very much the same all year around. It seems funny not having the four (4) seasons. I understand that it is quite warm in Rhode Island this Summer.
One good thing about being here is that you get plenty of sugar from cane, pineapples, bananas and a few other tropical fruits.
It sure is nice hearing from you. There is very little to write about as nothing unusual happens, it’s all very routine.
Hoping to hear from you soon. I remain
Sincerely yours,
Arnold
