Amy C. Edmondson is the Novartis Professor of Leadership and Management at the Harvard Business School, a chair established to support the study of human interactions that lead to the creation of successful enterprises that contribute to the betterment of society. Edmondson studies teaming, psychological safety, and organizational learning, and her research has been published in 70 scholarly articles and eight books.
Edmondson was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2024 and was awarded the Doctorem Honoris Causa from Maastricht University in The Netherlands in 2014 and the Columbia University Teachers College Medal for Distinguished Service in 2024. She has been recognized by the biannual Thinkers50 global ranking of management thinkers since 2011 and was ranked #1 in 2021 and 2023 and #2 in 2025.
Edmondson received her PhD in organizational behavior (1996), AM in psychology (1995), and AB in engineering and design (1980) from Harvard University.
