Dear Chairman,
I want to thank you and all the members of Bryant College for the gift which I received today. The cigarettes certainly do come in handy for everyone seems to smoke a lot more in the army than they did in civilian life.
At present I am in Reno, “The Biggest Little City in the World” – well they call it that anyway. It is a nice city and gambling seems to be the principle industry. From the looks of the place it even overshadows the diverse trade.
I am stationed at an Air bade here and I like it a lot. The camp is good, the weather warm and the whole gang in the company are a great bunch. I am doing a little office work now so I am not too busy.
I want to thank you and all the members of the College again for you are doing a good work and I am certain that all the graduates of Bryant appreciate it.
Sincerely yours,
Timothy McCarthy [Transcription ends]
