To whom it may Concern:
In reply to your letter of January 19, I am letting you know as to the whereabouts of our son, Lieut. Michael Lada.
Whether he received your package, we do not know as at the present time he is “somewhere in Africa” and we haven’t heard much from him. The address which you used was that of his station up to November 10, 1942, on which date he received his wing and commission and was sent to St. Joseph, Missouri, where on November 27 he was transferred to Morrison Field, Florida. On December 2, 1942 he left the States as a member of the Foreign Ferry Command. We will not be able to know whether he received your package until the middle of March, as in his last letter he told us not to expect any mail until then as he was going on a special mission.
We appreciate all you’re doing for him and are very thankful to the Service Club.
Yours truly,
Mr. + Mrs. Frank Lada
