In May 2022, Bryant University established the School of Health and Behavioral Sciences with two departments. The Biological and Biomedical Sciences Department and the Psychology Department had previously been the Science and Technology Department and Applied Psychology in the College of Arts & Sciences.

The School of Health and Behavioral Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate degrees and a doctorate. The Physician Assistant Program, the first graduate program, began in January 2015. The PA program has accreditation from The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA). There is now a second graduate program in Health Informatics and AI. This is an in-person and hybrid program, that combines the fundamentals of healthcare, artificial intelligence, and information technology. Students learn how to turn data into usable information and work with health professionals across New England to innovate and solve problems. The Doctor of Clinical Psychology began enrollment in the Fall of 2025. The Psy.D. is a practitioner-based program that will prepare students to provide clinical services across a wide range of settings. The curriculum adheres to the scholar-practitioner model of training, which emphasizes clinical practice backed by scientific research. Students will receive a well-rounded education in psychological science while gaining critical hands-on experience. There are two optional concentrations: child and adolescent psychology and health psychology.

On January 23, 2026, at the Board of Trustees’ retreat, members voted unanimously to approve a change to Bryant University’s academic structure. Elevation of the School of Health and Behavioral Sciences to the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences, effective July 1, 2026. This elevation recognizes the significant and sustained growth of the unit in recent years. The expansion of academic offerings, increases in student enrollment, and notable advances in research productivity have collectively strengthened its role within the university. It also reflects the School’s evolution into a more comprehensive academic entity with a growing portfolio of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs that address emerging needs in health, wellness, and behavioral science fields.
