Hand Mapping

Hand mapping is a representative method of creation where one can investigate and explore meaning with their relationships with others globally. It allows one a means to creatively communicate social issues, identity, and express personal experience/s.

The process used to create these works include:
  1. Respond to hand mapping prompt questions.
  2. Develop symbols that represent you, your character, your strengths.
  3. Trace an outline of your hand.
  4. Review your answers to the prompt questions, and decide on a direction for your creation. How can you both visually and textually express meaning?
  5. When using colors, what is the symbolic meaning of the color/s?
  6. When creating your work, use both image and text.
These hand maps were created by students in the Gen 100 class in Fall 2023 and were displayed at the 2023 Day of Understanding.
Printing is not supported at the primary Gallery Thumbnail page. Please first navigate to a specific Image before printing.
