Abstract
Math classes are not just – or even primarily – about formulas and techniques. They help students to develop a mathematical “way of thinking,” which is the key to understanding and decision-making in the complex and risky world of the future. Two historical examples are provided that demonstrate what it means to “think mathematically.”
