Abstract
Joy is a matter of life and death; as happiness levels are decreasing, American life expectancy is declining and global democracies are fraying. Joy lives in community; it is literally contagious, and so we can most effectively pursue our own happiness, and that of our society, together. Recognizing "when all give, all gain," we can collectively make the world a better place by pursuing what matters most for joy: long and strong relationships, purpose, physical fitness, meditation, and fun.
