Dear Friends;
Christmas Day I received a carton of cigarettes which you sent to me and I was very pleased to get them. Naturally I was glad that I had been remembered by the Bryant Service Club. I am sorry that I haven't acknowledged this gift sooner but I have been very busy up here and just haven't had time for any letter writing at all.
I often think of Bryant and of the swell times I had while attending there. I only wish that I was back there now, however there is another job to attend to right now. I still correspond with my two room-mates and we are the best of friends. I will never forget what Bryant College has done for me. I suppose that there are very few fellows attending Bryant this year due to the war. However, I guess it's that way with most of the colleges right now.
I am in hopes of returning to the states sometime this year. I sure would like to drop in at the college and look around for a little while. The weather here in the Aleutians is really terrible. However I am not kicking.
Well I must be going now. Once again I want to thank the Bryant Service Club and the students for remembering me this Christmas. Your letters are always appreciated for I am always anxious to here [sic] about Bryant and its' [sic] students. Until we all meet again
GOD BLESS YOU ALL
Very truly yours,
Richard C. Walrath
