ENSIGN LEE WEAVER, U S N R
December 26, 1943
To the Bryant Service Club:
Thank you for your Christmas message, it arrived just in time. The names I read brought back many memories. Here in South America or at any other advanced base we live on memories- we live over the past many times- exist in the present- and plan for the future.
The quickest and best way of passing time is looking forward to the mail plane. Every letter received is appreciated-whether it is a form letter, an advertisement, an old newspaper, or what not.
I hope you all had a pleasant Christmas and that this New Year brings you many happy days.
Sincerely,
Lee Weaver

Poem- on the spur of the moment-
Every bond you buy
Helps a Blimp to fly,
And a Blimp a day
Keeps the subs away. [Transcription ends]
