The second annual Women's Summit was held at Bryant College on Tuesday, March 30, 1999, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. "Women at the Helm: Navigating Change Through Effective Leadership" featured nationally known and recognized leaders in the business field, local businessmen and women, and Bryant faculty.

Keynote speakers were Orit Gadiesh, chairman of consulting firm, Bain & Co.; Barbara Smith, restauranter, author, and host of television's "B. Smith with Style", and Judy George, founder and CEO of Domain Home Fashion.

Breakout sessions were held throughout the day on topics such as starting a business, staying positive and motivated in your work, leadership styles, and personal finance for women.

Pre-registration was required for the conference, and the $5 conference fee included registration materials, attendance at the general sessions, three breakout sessions, and morning refreshments. Bryant students were able to attend the conference for free, but still needed to pre-register and did not include the luncheon.

There was an additional charge of $20 for the optional luncheon. B. Smith was the keynote speaker for the luncheon and seating was available for those who wished to hear the luncheon keynote speaker but not attend the lunch.
